Early reports suggest that Closer Racing's very own Petey has ridden the race of his life and finished a barnstorming 2nd place at the Mt Macedon Summer Series race on Sunday. Petey's 2nd place overshadowed Scotty's 6th place in Sport A and proved once again how effective his training regime is. More news as it comes to hand!
Amendment:
We were a tad early in our praise of Petey. His finish wasn't exactly barnstorming, rather it could be described as treacle-like. He in fact finished 2nd last in Sports B. "I'm stuffed!" A clearly unfit and under prepared Petey exhaled. "That bloody Wookie said this would be a good idea. It's easy for him, he doesn't have to work as hard as I do. My life is the hardest." Petey's main competition for last position wasn't pleased with his ride or Petey. "I was catching Petey when he stopped and asked for help to change a tyre. So I stopped and before I knew it Petey had thrown my bike into a tree and I couldn't reach it." Petey was unrepentant, "Meh, if he can't reach the bike its his problem. Its 'gamesmanship'."
Scotty on the other hand had a problem free race from start to finish with a solid 6th place his reward. "Yeah, I'm pretty happy. I'd rather finish mid field in Sport A than win Sport B." (Ed's Note:Ahhhh dude you wouldn't have won Sport B either) For once, there is actual photographic evidence of these happenings, which is amazing for Scotty as the photographer's always seem to not take any shots of him. (Ed's Note: Have you seen Scotty? Its not like he is a 5ft 4" anorexic broom handle!!)
In any case, congratulations to both rider's. Scotty for finishing in the points and Petey for well...... not coming dead last.

Petey doing his best impersonation of a real racer.... badly.
After getting help retrieving his bike from a tree, little Timmy almost caught Petey.
The search for the perfect Potato Gem drove Scotty to new heights.
